A long covered edge runs beside the pool, with a broad paved strip between the posts and the water. Peach State Pools & Yardscapes keeps this setting straightforward: a rectangular swimming area, a shallow projection at one end and an open fence toward the landscape beyond.
The aerial view is useful because it makes the proportions clear. The pool sits close enough to the building for the covered space to function as part of the same outdoor room. On the other sides, the paved border leaves a route around the water without covering the whole property.
Shelter along the length
Rather than making a small pavilion a destination at the far end, the roof provides shelter along one side of the pool. That gives people several places to move out of direct sun while remaining close to the water.
The repeated posts also establish a rhythm against the pool's long edge. The building is substantial, but its open side keeps the relationship with the terrace visible. From above, the roof and the water form two simple adjacent shapes.
Keeping the boundary open
The dark fence marks the enclosure without becoming a solid backdrop. Grass and trees remain visible through it, allowing the poolside area to borrow a longer view from the surrounding landscape.
The terrace uses a quiet, pale surface. Against it, the blue water and dark fence are the strongest contrasts. There is little need for another decorative pattern to explain the layout.
This project offers a useful counterpoint to heavily layered resort-style yards. Its appeal rests on a few clear relationships: water beside shelter, a walking route around the pool, and an open outlook beyond the boundary. The simplicity leaves room for furniture and everyday use to give the setting its character.
At home
A simple pool shape can work well when the surrounding deck and shelter have clear, complementary roles.
