Published program terms

Membership and publishing fees are in U.S. dollars (USD).

Membership starts when payment is confirmed. No application assessment or trade approval is required. Members manage their own business profiles and are responsible for accurate information, applicable licensing and insurance, and permission to publish their material. A Pro badge identifies paid membership; it is not a certification, inspection or guarantee of workmanship. Membership is billed annually in USD and renews automatically at the renewal amount shown at checkout. Cancel the next renewal in your member desk before the renewal date. Cancellation leaves access in place until the end of the paid membership year. Membership and article purchases are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. Included project credits apply to the current membership year and do not roll over. A complete project accepted and allocated before the year ends has a 30-day completion window after expiry. A credit is restored if Backyards declines the story or the member withdraws before drafting begins. Purchased article fees are non-refundable. Published stories remain online after membership ends. Current membership badges and new badge downloads require active membership. Featured and Signature include one introductory Business Spotlight per business, separate from project credits. Featured Business and As Featured In graphics become available only when that Spotlight is published; both link to it. Buying a project article does not unlock a Spotlight. Upgrading preserves an existing Spotlight. Project articles and Business Spotlights receive editorial review and carry paid-content identification. One factual correction round is included. Quarterly magazine selection remains an editorial decision. No placement, readership, leads, award or business outcome is guaranteed. Upload only facts, images and quotations you have permission to publish.

A downloaded badge is a point-in-time asset. The business profile is the authoritative place to check whether a credential is active, expired, suspended or revoked. A professional designation is not an award, government license or workmanship guarantee.
